Later, the men took the shells to town to consult with a specialist in the field, who confirmed that the shells were original and about 130 years old. To the actors' surprise, he had disappeared. For a split second, the men stop looking at the soldier and examine the rifle shells before attempting to look back at the haggard-faced soldier. The mysterious soldier remarked, "One more day, eh boys?" and then handed them three rifle shells. As they turned, they could see a gaunt-faced man dressed in uniform like theirs, looking as if lost. Still dressed in Union uniforms, they sat in an area of the field called Little Round Top to enjoy the view of the site. Once during the filming of a Civil War movie, the site of which was the battlefield itself, some of the actors during a break in filming decided to take a walk around the grounds. ![]() This photo digitizes it later to place it in an auction on eBay. One of them supposedly appears as a Confederate soldier of high rank. In 2005 Maryanne Wegert made a trip to the battlefield took several photos of the place with a disposable camera. Needless to say, this book is used as a guide by tourists looking for paranormal experiences. There have even been books written about the site, such as "Ghosts of Gettysburg Spirits, Apparitions, and Haunted Places of the Battlefield" by Mark Nesbitt. Since then, there have been frequent stories of apparitions of the so-called "ghosts of Gettysburg." In fact, it is said that the ghosts of the battlefield are of soldiers who died and did not get eternal rest, wandering forever in the place where the bloody episode took place. It was the largest battle that took place on American soil so far and a pivotal event in the history of the USA in it, more than 7,000 soldiers died, and almost 50,000 were wounded between the two sides, the Confederates and the Union. In the early days of July 1863, the Battle of Gettysburg was fought in the state of Pennsylvania, United States. But it was not until 1929 when Eric Smith, a parish priest, moved into the rectory with his family.Īt that time, his wife found a human skull in a closet in the rectory, and it seems that this unleashed all kinds of evil forces and strange poltergeist events from the tinkling of bells and buzzers ringing without anyone touching them, from a figure dressed as a nun wandering through the garden, the movement of objects, the sounds of footsteps in the rooms, door keys jumping out of locks, stones flying from the ceiling and even piercing screams, to the passing of non-existent carriages in the vicinity of the place. The nun's soul in sorrow is supposed to have been the cause of all the paranormal occurrences in the rectory since 1865 when the rectory was built on top of the remains of the monastery. After their affair was discovered, the monk was executed by hanging, and the nun walled up alive in the convent walls. Legend has it (through a spirit invoked in a séance by Harry Price and a medium) that there was once a monastery in which lived a monk who carried on a relationship with a nun from a nearby convent.
